Join our team as a Trainer (internship) for a global education project, called “Bridging Cultures- Global South Voices driving change” in Berlin

The Hope Foundation, a Cameroonian-German non-profit organization working in education, sport and health, is inviting trainee interns from the Global South to join our Bridging Cultures Project in Berlin. If you are dedicated, enthusiastic, and eager to contribute to community development and poverty alleviation, this opportunity is for you!

About the project:

In this project, interns from Global South or Diaspora will teach in English, engaging learners in discussions develop solutions for the challenges their continents and countries face. 

Additionally, learners will brainstorm innovative ideas for projects and events to raise awareness in Germany.

The intern has the task of creating a minimum of five workshops (one or two day, workshops) for students ages 16-20 and a further cooking workshop for our project “Spoons4Change”. In addition, the intern will organize an event (for example a movie night). There will be further tasks in PR-work, evaluation of the workshops and preparation of teaching materials. 

This year´s special themes for discussion in the various schools during the workshops and programme are:

  • Responsible consumption and production 
  • Peace, justice and strong institutions
  • Climate Action


Objectives of the project:

  • Raising awareness for the UN Sustainable Development Goals, global relations and developmental problems
  • Promoting participants’ social skills and commitment
  • Develop intercultural relations
  • Elimination of prejudice and racism 
  • Improve learners’ English language skills


Target group of the project:

  • Learners between 16 and 20 years old from secondary schools in Berlin
  • Adults, open public in Berlin (Spoons4Change)


Working hours: 20 hours per week

  • Applicants must be from Asia, Africa or Latin America
  • Excellent English skills
  • Very good knowledge about home country and continent
  • In-depth understanding of global themes such as globalization, SDGs and key political issues
  • Pleasant and friendly manner and a team player 
  • Open-minded, flexible, disciplined, and with training /teaching experience
  • Desirable: experience with various training methods (including virtual, in-person training, and blended offering) and up-to-date with new training methods and techniques
  • Special requirement for the first training round: applicants who live in Berlin or can move to Berlin immediately, as the final recruitment step and acceptances take place in mid/late July.
